Counterpoint with the ASO: Flores Performs Márquez

The Tenth partners with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for Counterpoint: Flores Performs Márquez, an evening where music, conversation, and community come together. Guests will attend a performance led by five-time GRAMMY Award-winning Nicaraguan conductor Giancarlo Guerrero, guiding the ASO through a vibrant south-of-the-border immersion. The program draws from Afro-Caribbean, Central, and South American musical traditions, including the tango-infused Sinfonía Buenos Aires.

The evening also features renowned Venezuelan trumpet soloist Pacho Flores, who explores Mexico’s rich trumpet playing tradition through a work written by Arturo Márquez specifically for him. Prior to the performance, Counterpoint ticket holders are invited to a pre-performance reception hosted in partnership with The Tenth, with light food and drinks provided, creating space to gather, connect, and ease into the ideas that will unfold onstage.

Purchase a Counterpoint membership to enjoy the series of curated ASO performances, pre‑concert receptions, and exclusive perks.

This event is open to the public, with the pre-performance reception included in Counterpoint tickets.
