The Tenth Anniversary Soirée + Book Talk with Author A’Lelia Bundles & Dr. Karida Brown on Joy Goddess
In honor of our first anniversary, we’re hosting a special evening with A’Lelia Bundles, who’ll be in conversation with Karida Brown about her stunning new biography Joy Goddess: A’Lelia Walker and the Harlem Renaissance. Bundles brings her great-grandmother—and Harlem’s legendary “Joy Goddess”—to life with grace, revealing the salons, soirées, and creative salons that helped define a cultural era.
Guests will receive a copy of Joy Goddess and have the opportunity to get it personally signed.

The Tenth will explore the new developments of South Downtown with an insider walking tour and conversation on the neighborhood’s ongoing evolution. We’ll discuss its history, peek into its future, and reflect on what it means for Atlanta’s creative and cultural landscape.

The Tenth in Conversation with Shanita Miller, Founder of Black Girls Guide ATL
The Tenth is partnering with FORTH, a new hotel and members’ club in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, to host a conversation with Shanita Miller, founder of Black Girls’ Guide to Atlanta. Miller’s platform has quickly gained traction for its celebration of Black- and women-owned businesses, amplifying both their work and their stories.

Book Talk with Author Katie Mitchell, Prose to the People
The Tenth is collaborating with Katie Mitchell, author and Atlanta-based bookseller, for a conversation about her book Prose to the People: A Celebration of Black Bookstores. Guests will receive a copy and have the chance to get it signed by the author.
Prose to the People is a visually immersive tribute to Black bookstores across America. Curated by Mitchell—who also runs Good Books, an online and pop-up Black bookstore—it profiles over fifty independent Black bookstores through essays, one-on-one interviews, poetry, archival images, and more, with a foreword by Nikki Giovanni.

Conversation with Hala Moddlemog, CEO of Woodruff Arts Center
The Tenth will host a conversation with Hala Moddelmog, President and CEO of the Woodruff Arts Center. As the first woman to lead the institution, Moddelmog is guiding one of Atlanta’s cornerstone cultural organizations with a focus on creativity, community, and the transformative power of the arts. This salon offers the chance to hear directly from a leader shaping the city’s cultural future.

Old Atlanta Walking Tour with Victoria Lemos of Archive Atlanta
The Tenth is teaming up with Victoria Lemos, founder of Archive Atlanta, for a walking tour that turns the city’s familiar streets into a living archive. Victoria ‘s weekly podcast unearths the lesser-known stories, people, and places that shaped Atlanta’s soul. Launched in 2018, Archive Atlanta now has over 100 episodes, each with the goal engaging Atlantans not just with the big landmarks but the little moments that actually define a place.
